Supporting renewable wood energy as a sustainable, low-carbon power source.
A growing body of scientific literature confirms the US biomass industry is achieving carbon-neutrality, a key requirement for reducing emissions and mitigating climate change.
The report sets out a serious vision for the nation to tackle climate change, and provides an action plan for creating a clean energy economy in the US, which includes sustainable biomass and BECCS.
In an open letter, more than 100 forestry and forest carbon researchers and scientists emphasize: "The carbon benefits of sustainable forest biomass are well established."

Renewable wood energy is sustainably-sourced from working forests throughout the Southeast US. The US forest products industry supports forest health and growth, and reduces risks of deforestation.
Wood energy is a renewable replacement for fossil fuels, providing low-carbon, on-demand energy to produce power and heat. Wood energy can reduce carbon emissions up to 90% when compared to coal.
Wood energy provides grid stability and back-up power, making it the perfect complement to other renewables like solar and wind. Wood energy is a critical component of any comprehensive renewables strategy.
